A very richly printed etching of an industrial site. Archival mount and framed. Auguste Brouet studied in Paris in the late 1880’s and followed with a career in book illustration. Though a classical traditionalist, his work is noted by an expressive looseness in the drawing together with an effective use of light that give a freshness to his work. His work was widely appreciated in France and America in the post WWI period. Signed in graphite, lower right: A. Brouet Numbered, lower right: 72/100 France, circa 1925.
