This listing is for a fascinating landscape painting by Этингер, Владимир Гаврилович Vladimir Gavrilovich Etinger (1919-1960). Vladimir Gavrilovich Etinger - served in the Red Army during WWII. He fought in the Battle of Stalingrad and was demobilized after being seriously injured. In 1945, he entered The Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK, Moscow). He was later accepted to the Moscow Union of Artists in 1951. Etinger began his art career in 1952. In addition to easel painting, he was involved in monumental art. Etinger is the author of two panels for the pavilions "Geology", "Oil", "Chemistry" at the All-Union Industrial Exhibition. He was also known for his film "The Battle of Salingrad". Etinger was awarded the Order of the Red Star and other government awards. He taught at VGIK, worked as an artist at the Mosfilm studio. This painting is a wonderful example of Etinger's work. Due to his short life, his pieces are quite rare. It depicts the outskirts of Zheleznovodsk, a town in southwestern Russia. It is an oil on board. The painting is signed on the reverse in Cyrillic. It reads, "Этингер, В. Г. Окрестности Железноводска," which translates to "Etinger V.G., outskirts of Zheleznovodsk." The framed piece measures 31.75 x24 inches
