Eugène Delâtre After Jean Benner, Alsacienne, Original Etching

Chairish

$310

Alsacienne is a fine black and white etching, realized by Eugène Delâtre (1864-1939), after Jean Benner. A beautiful etching representing a female profile portrait, is in excellent condition, except for some light foxing beyond the marginal line. This defect does not affect the image. Eugène Delâtre (Paris, 1864 -1938) Eugène Delâtre is an engraver, painter, watercolorist and French printer. He is famous for his productions on the Montmartre mound in black and white and in colors, precious testimonies of Montmartre at the end of the nineteenth century. He also drew in Brittany, in the south of France, in Normandy and made portraits. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
