About the artist> Fermin Santos Alcalde studied in Madrid , at the School of Artistic Arts and Crafts, with Marceliano Santamaría. After the civil war he entered the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando Provincial de Guadalajara-, where he had for teachers Vázquez Díaz, Chicharro, Benedito and Garnelo, among others. He was a first-class decorator at the Francisco Franco Foundation, but ended up renouncing this position to devote himself entirely to his creative work. He made numerous exhibitions, including anthologies in the rooms of the National Library (1978) and the Provincial Council of Guadalajara (1988), in the castle of Sigüenza , in the Bernardi Gallery in Washington (1968), and in different galleries from Madrid: Quixote (1966), Heller (1973), Gavar (1983), as well as at the Ateneo de Madrid , in 1975, at the Caja de Ahorros de Guadalajara (1971), at the Álvaro gallery in Seville (1974 , in the Dintel room in Santander, in the Ausaga gallery in León (1975), etc. Sigüenza City Council named him an artistic chronicler and adopted son of the city, whose silver medal was awarded posthumously in 1998.
