Very nice painting with a folk art feel by the artist, Horace M. Stone, Jr. (1919-1978). The piece was executed in 1956. Stone has depicted the brick facade of the main offices of the Finger Lakes Telephone Corporation. The building was located at 2 North Street. The painting seems to have been done before the company moved its operations to South Street, Marcellus, New York. The medium is oil paint on academy board. There is a nice bit of documentation on the reverse that explains the history of the Finger Lakes Telephone Corporation. Good overall condition with minor cosmetic wear. No visible surface paint missing. The framing treatment consists of a simple stained and mitered corner pine frame. Overall approximate measurements with the frame are 1" deep x 30" wide x 24" high. The approximate measurements of the board are 24" wide x 18" high.
