This Fiorucci very rare original vintage 1979 New Wave Italian fashion " Fioruccino " lithograph print Augusto Vignali Pop Art poster is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection. The New Wave fashion poster is designed by the famous Italian graphic designer Augusto Vignali, printed in Italy in 1979 by Industria Grafica Bruno Viappiani S.P.A. - Milano. The world famous Italian fashion brand Fiorucci was founded in 1967 by Elio Fiorucci. The first shop exposed Milan to the styles of swinging London and American classics such as the t-shirt and jeans. By the late 1970's and early 1980's this would be reversed, and the New York store would become famous for the fashions it introduced in The United States. In the early 1980's the Fiorucci boutique in New York City was the epicenter of the New Wave Postmodern fashion scene. It was the place to be, and referred to as " The Daytime Studio 54 ". It attracted trendsetters including Andy Warhol, Jackie O., Truman Capote, Debbie Harry, and a young Madonna, among many other creative and well known people. Fiorucci made better posters than any other fashion brand ever did. The posters sold the clothing for sure, but the posters were the product also. They were hugely desirable. Clothing inside the closet / posters hung on the closet door. Fiorucci posters were a collectible Pop Culture phenomenon. The rare out of print New Wave fashion Pop Art poster print measures 18 7/8" W X 26 1/2" H. It is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling and very light minor wear. It has never been framed. Please see photos for condition reference.
