This 1952 tempera on paper board shadowy nude entitled "Figure Holding Drapery" is by California artist Forrest Hibbits (1905-1996). Hibbits graduated from the California College of Arts and Crafts. He exhibited at SFMOMA, the de Young Museum, the Oakland Museum of Art, and the Legion of Honor. Hibbits worked as a commercial artist at Patterson and Sullivan, a San Francisco ad agency in the 1920s-1930s. Signed lower right.
