Early 20th C. pencil portrait in pencil of a young woman captured in a moment of rest. Circa 1920-1940. On heavy art stock paper which shows signs of age due to overall toning and some faint water spots. We note the water spots present are actually LESS visible in real life than shown in the photos here. We feel these add to the charm of the piece, and do not detract. Signed lower left within the work, just below the hand, simply by the initial "B". Displayed in a period vintage wood frame, likely to be a bit older than the work itself, with a wonderful faux grain painted surface. Minor signs of age to the finish. Ivory mat is new and acid-free, as is the backer board. Ready to hang and enjoy! Exterior dimensions measure 15.25" tall x 12.25" wide. Mat opening view area measures 9 3/8" tall x 7 3/8" wide. Work plus mat measures a standard 11" x 14" should you chose to change to a different frame of your choosing. Would look equally nice in a classic black gallery frame.
