Up for sale is this amazing double-page print from Spy, published as a supplement to Vanity Fair, November 30, 1893. "On The Terrace: A Political Spectacle - 'The Ayes Have It -The Noes Have It.'" pictures a group of influential Members of the House of Commons: Sir (Joseph) Austen Chamberlain [1863-1937], Joseph ("Joe") Chamberlain [1836-1914], Sir John Eldon Gorst [1835-1916], Sir William Vernon Harcourt [1827-1904], Justin McCarthy [1830-1912], Anthony John Mundella [1825-1897], Arthur Balfour [1873-1957] and Sir Richard Temple [1826-1902]. The artist, "Spy" (Leslie Ward, 1851-1922), was the magazine's most famous caricaturist. Out of the roughly 2,400 caricatures published in Vanity Fair over the years, most were single pages. "On the Terrace is one of the double-page prints issued in the special "Supplement" numbers. Framed elegantly in wood with an overall size of 27 1/2" x 23", this print is in excellent condition, with some scuffs to the frame, as pictured, that do not detract from its visual appeal.
