This powerful work depicts two entwined bodies in a deliberately minimalist composition where movement and emotion take precedence over anatomical detail. The figures appear to merge in a play of black lines and electric blue contours that traverse the entire surface of the canvas. The paint is applied generously, in broad, visible impasto, giving the work a remarkable physical presence. The contrast between the flesh, rendered in gray and beige, and the intense red background reinforces the dramatic tension of the scene.
