The proposed work is a paper piece by artist Franz Lenhart, preserved in excellent condition, measuring 62 x 69 cm. Considered one of the leading figures in Italian advertising poster art of the first half of the 20th century, Leahart’s work largely focused on well-known locations in the Dolomites. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wien before continuing his studies at the same institution in Florence. Franz Josef Lenhart passed away in 1992 at the age of 94 in his home-studio in the annex of Castel Winkel in Merano. The city paid tribute to him with a sculpture by Mimmo Paladino, placed along the Passirio Promenade and inaugurated on October 17, 2017. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
