Design Plus Gallery presents a Reproduction Framed Print of Self-Portrait with Palette by Frédéric Bazille (1841–1870). The artist had an impressive catalog of seventy paintings with four being of self portraits during his short life. It’s not clear exactly when he painted his Self-Portrait with Palette, but it was most probably in 1865. It’s a remarkably accomplished work, given the complexity of arranging the mirror and canvas to result in this unusual pose. The original of this reproduction of his self portrait is life-size and is at the Art Academy in Chicago. The print is placed in a grand and fitting wood frame with intentionally distressed/aged finish. It is in good overall condition for its usage.
