She began her artistic training in 2001 at the academy of media arts cologne, where she studied under renowned artists such as jürgen klauke, marcel odenbach, and matthias müller. After graduating with distinction in 2006, she continued her studies at the sandberg institute in amsterdam, where she earned a postgraduate master of fine arts. freya hattenberger (born 1978 in offenbach am main) is a german media and performance artist who lives and works in cologne.
