A French Impressionist Fauvist Colour-Field gouache and watercolour on paper landscape by Gabrielle Ricard-Cordingley. The painting is signed bottom right. There is another painting of a mountain landscape to the back of the paper, see photo. A charming and colourful landscape view of trees in all their majestic beauty surrounding a path leading to bastide with farm buildings. The artist has used an interesting and vibrant colour palette of mauve, greens, blues, orange and red for the composition which makes the painting sing. The technique and use of colour harks back to the landscapes of Van Gogh. This is probably a view of the countryside around Nice in the south of France, where Ricard did most of her painting, and the landscape and light of which has always been such an inspiration to artists This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
