Gaspard Maillol , born on July 10 , 1880 in Barcelona and died on January 6 , 1946 in Paris , is a French painter , wood engraver , watercolourist , publisher and stationer. He then went to live in Paris, he drew, painted, mainly watercolors and engraved on wood . He first exhibited in various galleries, at Eugène Druet (1907), at La Licorne, then at the Salon des Indépendants , and at the Salon d'Automne . He specialized in xylography , which led him to take an interest in papermaking. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
