The Redeemer is an Original Pencil and Watercolour realized by Gaston Touissant (1872-1946). Good condition, included a white cardboard passpartout (49.5x35 cm). No Signature, stamp of the Atelier Touissant, Vendome on the lower right corner. Gaston Toussaint or Gaston Henri Toussaint is a French sculptor , born on September 7 , 1872 at Rocquencourt and died on March 20 , 1946 in the 14th arrondissement of Paris . He is a practitioner of Antoine Bourdelle . Gaston Toussaint spent his childhood in Castres , trained in the studio of the sculptor Alphonse Gasc and then entered the School of Fine Arts in Toulouse in 1894 5 . In 1897, he went to Paris and enrolled at the École des beaux-arts , he remained there until 1900, when he probably met Antoine Bourdelle. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
