Finden The state of preservation is good, only a yellowed paper along the edges and some foxing. George Balmer (1805-1846) was a British artist. He was famous for landscape and marine paintings and like illustrator. His work is represented in numerous public collections, including the Laing Art Gallery (Newcastle upon Tyne), and Shipley Art Gallery (Gateshead). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
