Character holding his head with reflection in mirror is an original black chalk drawing on drawing sheet, torn at the top, realized at the beginning of the 19th Century by the artist Georges Gôbo (Saint Francisco, 1876 - Nantes 1958). Signed GOBO in pencil on the lower margin. The state of preservation is good. Georges Gobo or Georges Gobô, pseudonym of Georges Gobeau, born June 19, 1876 in San Francisco and died July 6, 1958 (aged 82) in Rezé, is a French painter, illustrator, lithographer and engraver, member of the Society of Painters - French engravers. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
