Golden Grasses No.1 & No.2' Acrylic, moulding medium, Gesso and composite gold leaf on canvas board Each panel image size 10" x 19.75" I use the moulding paste to create the structure of the picture. This produces a tangibly dimensional look and feel. After being gessoed, I then paint on this relief with high-quality, heavy-body acrylic paint and use composite gold leaf to accentuate the relief. The end result is a unique and impactful artwork which tends to draw the viewer in. These paintings are inspired by my local waysides in Wiltshire, UK, and the wonderful shapes and forms of different species of grasses and wild flowers. How beautiful such simple things in nature can be! This painting is on a canvas-covered board - no glass required. The painting has several coats of a gloss varnish for UV and dirt protection. It is signed and dated on the back.
