A great egret dances on the waves at Cypress Point in Pebble Beach. Its radiant warm colors complement the blues, grays and browns of the ocean and kelp-covered rocks. Great egrets hunt for small fish and crustaceans in the shallow waters along the shoreline. When a wave comes in, they take flight for a few moments and then gently land again, getting back to work.
