Vintage circa 1920s - 1940s floral watercolor with two large chrysanthemum flowers in red and orange, and in white. The composition is reminiscent of a Japanese Ikebana flower arrangement! Unknown artist, unsigned. Some minor stray marks on the work, consistent with age of the piece, not detracting but mentioned for accuracy's sake. Please see pictures. Framed in a 1960s - 1970s era vintage frame of the highest quality, likely Italian. Olive green leather parchment wrapped surface is further decorated with gold embossing and glossy lacquer. There is some age-related very fine craquelure in the glossy finish, seen when looking in just the right light, also mentioned for accuracy's sake, but not readily seen except on close inspection. Frame has loop ring hangers for either vertical or horizontal wall hanging, as well as the easel stand that can also be positioned for either vertical or horizontal placement on a table, desk or mantel. Outside dimensions of frame are 11" x 14". Interior view area dimensions are 8.75" x 11.75".
