About the artist: Gregory Sievers has an extensive Art background. He had training in figure and anatomy drawing in Secondary School. He received his Associate of Fine Arts Degree in 1976 from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In 1982 he received a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. His masters thesis was a compilation of Still Lifes depicting aspects of the early west. In 1996, Greg was appointed by the Governor of Idaho to serve as a Commissioner on the Idaho Commission on the Arts. In 1996 and 1997, Greg served the commission on the Policy and Planning Board and as Chair of the Individual Artists Committee. A unique form of impressionism can be seen in Greg’s style. Many of the early impressionist styles were far more detailed than most realize.
