Original woodcut on Japanese paper Image Dimensions: 53 x 25 cm Hand-signed and dated on the lower right. Numbered, edition 5/10. Gustav Grund (1912-1996) was a German Painter. Beside oil-paintings and drawings, he created woodcuts and lithographs throughout his whole career. Gustaf Grund's painting style was influenced by expressionism throughout his life, but the cubist approach cannot be overlooked. The play with shape, light and dark and the distortion of perspectives is reminiscent of works by great artist colleagues from the first half of the 20th century, without leaving the impression of plagiarism.
