Gustave Joseph Biot was a Belgian painter and engraver born in Brussels in 1833 and died in Antwerp in 1905, Biot was better known as portraitist and engraver. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
