The "Hood" as seen through the gloomy haze of fog and frozen rain. This painting was created around 2019/2020--when the world was at its most uncertain. Notice the blurred lines, the muted colors--soft edges--tense faces. So moody--and frankly uncharacteristic of the perpetual optimism which is the cornerstone of George's work. And yet this painting is beautiful. The palette is muted but well considered. The figures are stylistic but well-drawn. The composition is balanced and interesting--and depicts a scene universally relatable. This is a large painting. 36" x 48" unframed; it will make a thoughtful addition to any collection Questions or thoughts, please message us through Chairish.
