The Collector is an Original China Ink Drawing realized by Hermann Paul (1864-1940). Good condition on a white paper. Hand-signed and titled on the lower margin. Hermann René Georges. (Paris 1864 - Les Saintes- Marie-de-la-Mer 1940). A highly controversial painter and caricaturist, he produced much for L'Assiette au Beurre until its closure in 1912. During the Great War he drew memorable plates for Le Rire rouge, Le Journal and La Baionnette. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
