"Heroin Kills" Contemporary Original Large Neo-Expressionist Painting By Sax Berlin

Chairish

$30,000

Heroin Kills is a cry from the soul from Berlin. A contemporary of Basquiat in the New York art scene of the 1980's Berlin was very much on the frontline when it came to witnessing the death and destruction wreaked on young lives by this most insidious of drugs.  Many young, contemporary artists were impacted by drugs and their fallout, but Sax was particularly affected by Basquiats premature death at the age of just 27 and this piece is a direct result of that experience and his subsequent musing. Heroin Kills is a plea from Berlin in his unique New York City Sharp Edge style to have the drug regulated and to warn those who may become involved that heroin truly kills. Contemporary art has always had a conscience and the best of contemporary artists, like Berlin, bring it to bear. It's social commentary combined with stunning art in this impressive painting.
