Hilma Af Klint ( 1862 - 1944 ) The Swedish artist and mystic who's paintings were amongst the very first Abstract artworks ever created. A considerable body of her Abstract work predates the first purely Abstract compositions of Kandinsky. She belonged to a group called " The Five ", a circle of women who shared a belief in the importance of trying to make contact with the so - called " High Masters ", often by way of seances. Her Abstract paintings which sometimes resemble diagrams were usually representations of complex spiritual ideas, were never exhibited publicly in her lifetime. The extra large monumental format lithograph print framed exhibition poster measures 40 3/4" W X 57 3/4" H X 1 1/4" D. it is custom framed with UV Protective plexiglass in a matte satin finish black metal Modern box style frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
