Hiroshige: Original Fuji, Meguro - High-Quality Woodblock Reproduction

Chairish

$350

The Artistry This is a beautiful hand-pulled woodblock reproduction of Utagawa Hiroshige’s "Original Fuji, Meguro," plate No. 25 from his 1857 masterwork series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo. The scene depicts the "Moto-Fuji" (Original Fuji), a popular man-made pilgrimage mound in the Meguro district, framed by dramatic pine trees and cherry blossoms at its base. Artist use Washi paper. Technical Details Medium: Authentic woodblock print on traditional washi paper. Artist: After Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858). Authenticity Markers: Features clear ink saturation and bleed-through on the reverse, confirming a hand-pressed woodblock process rather than a modern digital print. Visuals: Features the sophisticated "bokashi" color gradation in the sky and hills that Hiroshige is famous for. Condition Report Grade: Excellent Vintage Condition. Details: Vibrant pigments with sharp line work. Natural, light age-toning to the paper consistent with a mid-20th-century vintage edition. Full margins are present with only minor softening at the corners.
