These paintings were created in the Hollywood Hills just below the iconic hillside sign. My studio was so close that we could hike to the sign in minutes! Most people do not realize how remote the sign actually is. This style of approach I like to call decomposing celluloid. Shorthand for the golden age of Hollywood.
