Ignaz Kaufmann 1885 Braunseifen [Ryžoviště] – 1975 Buenos Aires Portrait of a Gentleman Oil on canvas, framed Monogrammed and dated (1925) upper right Size: 75 x 55 cm (without frame) or 92.8 x 72.5 cm (with frame) ____________________________ Ignaz Kaufmann Painter, draftsman, illustrator. Studied art in Vienna and Stuttgart. Study trips to Paris and Italy. Resident of Stuttgart from around 1921, where he became friends with, among others, the architect Oscar Bloch. Emigrated to London in 1939, later moving on to Argentina. Exhibitions: from 1919-20, participation in exhibitions at the "Württembergischer Kunstverein" (Württemberg Art Association) 1935-37, participation (together with, among others, Alice Haarburger, Trude Munk, Klara Neuburger, Emilie Ott, Else Samuel, and Paula Straus) in "Jewish Art Exhibitions," Stuttgart 2025, represented with one work in the exhibition "Cursed Art – Works from the Memoria Collection.
