Iris Brody (American - d. 1961, NY, drug overdose) oil wash on paper laid on masonite figural study of a boy. Brody, part of the Kerouc / Ginsberg Lower East Side Manhattan "Beatnick" scene, was an artist notably admired and collected by William Burroughs. Her painting of poet-musician Jackson Mac Low can be seen in the background of a famous photograph of Burroughs. Artist signed.
