The painting, an eighteenth-century copy of the famous masterpiece by Carlo Cignani (Bologna, 15 May 1628 – Forlì, 6 September 1719), measures 120x155 cm without frame and is embellished with a majestic gilded and carved frame, which brings the overall dimensions to 160x197 cm. The work depicts the biblical moment in which Isaac, blind and wrapped in sheets and blankets, blesses Jacob. Sitting on the bed, Isaac holds his hands on the head and hands of the young Jacob, kneeling in front of him. To the left of the scene, Rebecca, also kneeling, encourages Jacob to carry out the deception against his father, holding a finger to her lips as a sign of silence. The application of color is meticulous and uniform, a distinctive feature of classical art, which gives depth and solemnity to the scene. The elaborate frame further enhances the importance of the work, framing it with elegance and grandeur.
