An original early 19th-century watercolour painting over etching, Italian School, Uffizi Galleries (Uffizi e Galleria), Florence, Italy.An exquisite Italian 'veduta della Metropolitana Fiorentina' showing the Uffizi Galleries in central Florence. The ornate architecture and small figures are precisely hand-coloured in watercolour with the addition of gum arabic, over an engraved base. This subject resembles the vedute of the 18th-century Florentine painter and printmaker Giuseppe Zocchi.This picture was produced in the early 19th century by an anonymous Italian artist for the Grand Tour souvenir market.On cream wove paper with hand-painted grey gouache border.All artworks come with a Certificate of Authenticity and—if it is a collection artwork—its accompanying collection text or artist biography.
