Signed lower right, 'Chiesi' and painted circa 1975. Born in Felina, in the province of Reggio Emilia, Chiesi first studied in Milan and, subsequently, with Vicentini Enzo and Gianfranco Ferroni. Chiesi's first solo exhibition was held in 1979 at the Gallery Marini in Florence, and he has since exhibited with success in major Italian cities including Milan, Venice, and Rome. The winner of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards, he moved, in the mid 1990's, to the remote countryside to continue his work surrounded by silence and nature. Chiesi is well-listed in all relevant art-reference works
