Japanese landscape scroll, finely drawn and detailed colored inks on silk, mounted on shimmering, green and ecru, silk brocade in a rippling clouds pattern, with light gray and ecru ichimonji in a floral silk brocade at the top and bottom of the image. A signature is on the mid-right, with two red seal marks . The exterior cover is a dark tan, raw silk. The scroll has a white and black braided, flat cord, makio and kakeo at the top and white jikusaki at the bottom. Circa Meiji era. The image size is 16" wide x 49.375" high. In the foreground a a shallow stream meanders between two rocky, forested, shores receding into misty groves. Mountain promontories ascend on each side, while a cataract, rushing past a small mountain hermitage, at the middle-right, plunges into the clouds and mist hiding the punchbowl below while the distant peaks fade into the surrounding clouds.
