The Night is original etching realized by Jean Fautrier. Hand-signed on the lower right in pencil. Numbered on the lower left, edition of 22/50 prints. This formidable print represents a poetical composition in black and blue with whitish lines and spots with strong and well-defined colors. Jean Fautrier was a french painter, illustrator, and printmaker, as well as a sculptor. He is well known for being part of the Tachisme. In 1960, he won the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale. His late work is mainly abstract and on mixed media. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
