Jean-Michel Basquiat Untitled (New York) Skateboard From The Skateroom

MoMA

$220

For the groundbreaking 1981 MoMA PS1 exhibition New York/New Wave, neo-expressionist artist Jean-Michel Basquiat designed a promotional graffiti sign, Untitled (New York). The work is reproduced here on this skateboard, crafted from seven-ply Canadian maple wood. The exhibition featured more than 100 artists from the avant-garde New Wave scene, including Basquiat, Keith Haring, David Byrne, Nan Goldin and Greer Lankton. The Jean-Michel Basquiat Untitled (New York) skateboard is made in collaboration between The Skateroom and The Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat. It measures 32h x 8.25w x 0.5"d. Basquiat’s work is represented in MoMA’s collection. The Skateroom is a platform for promoting, selling and producing art on skateboards that supports youth-empowering organizations.
