Joan Miró, Composition X, Lithograph, 1974

Chairish

$349

Original lithograph X is a superb color lithograph on paper, realized in 1974 by Joan Miro for the second volume of his catalog " Mirò Lithograph". This plate is from a series composed by an original lithograph for the cover and other eleven original lithographs, two additional lithographs are reserved for the deluxe edition with an edition of 150 specimens. Reference: Mirò Lithographe III, Maeght Editeur, Paris, pag. 32. In excellent conditions, except for the medial vertical fold of the paper, this contemporary artwork could transmit you and your house a powerful joy, without remembering the incredible touch of the Spanish master! While Joan Miró (1893-1983) rejected any formal association with movements or groups, including the Surrealists, André Breton recognized him as “the most Surrealist of us all”. His artistic approach encouraged the free play of associations, and envisaged “accidents” to provoke reactions closely connected to subconscious experiences. Miró’s famous motifs consist of freely reshaped fragments cut from catalogs for machinery on canvases to form black silhouettes – solid or in outline, with dramatic accents of white and red. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
