This large-scale collage is created using a mix of materials mounted onto ¼-inch-thick wool felt, with a rhythm of coloured panels unfolding as a grid of softly undulating waves. Woven textile artist Meghan Spielman creates each of her artworks using unconventional and highly tactile materials like silk boucle, brushed mohair, glass seed beads, and chenille. Applying colour asymmetrically, the artist keeps the comfort and familiarity of timeless patterns while transforming them into something far from everyday.
