Kenneth Miller Adams Signed Lithograph "Ranchos De Taos Church — Moonlight" 1950

Chairish

$450

A signed lithograph by Kenneth Miller Adams (1897–1966), one of the founding members of the Taos Society of Artists and a student of Robert Henri and George Bellows. Adams settled permanently in Taos in 1926 and spent his career documenting the landscape and people of northern New Mexico. His work is held in the permanent collections of major American museums. This print depicts the Ranchos de Taos Church — San Francisco de Asís Mission — in moonlight, rendered in Adams's characteristic geometric style with dramatic contrasts of light and shadow. The subject is among the most celebrated in the Taos artistic canon, depicted by generations of painters and photographers drawn to its monumental adobe form. Titled "Ranchos de Taos Church — Moonlight" in pencil lower left. Signed in pencil lower right "Kenneth M. Adams" with characteristic dash. Published by the University of New Mexico Press, New Mexico Artists Series No. 1, 1950. Pencil notation "10525" on verso. Note: This is a signed offset lithograph from the original 1950 UNM Press portfolio publication, not a hand-pulled artist's proof. The pencil signature is genuine. Light toning to upper left corner consistent with age; does not affect image area. Sheet approximately 16 x 12 inches. Very good condition overall.
