The birth of a true pictorial current of this type is Antonio Pitloo, a young Dutchman who arrived in Naples in 1815, after a stay in Paris. Pitloo combines all these instances pre-landscape and introduces first in Naples the technique of painting en plein air ("in the open air", the French Impressionists), painting in beautiful oils rich in light and color effects of the most classic landscapes of the Neapolitan city.
