Richard was born on October 18 1923 in Galveston, TX to George and Anna Fowles. He served his country in World War II with 867th AAA Battalion in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. After the war, he married Thelma Telschow and raised a family of four, Harriett, Deborah, Richard, and Phyllis and they resided in La Marque, TX. Richard a naturally talented artist became a renowned professional artist. His passion for his art centered on sailboats, shrimp boats, and the great scenery of past and present Galveston Island. He loved his family, the sea and Galveston, which was reflected in his art.
