Large Vintage Pop-Art Painting Titled “Procession” By Douglas Binder From The 1970s

Chairish

$1,800

This is a striking large-scale pop-art oil painting by Douglas Binder featuring a lineup of abstracted, cartoon-like figures rendered in bold outlines and flat color fields of red, gray, pink, and black. The composition is framed within two circular window-like forms, giving the impression of looking outward onto a surreal, almost comic-book procession. The paint application is clean and graphic, with strong contour lines and a playful, slightly mysterious narrative quality. The back retains part of the original gallery label (Chicago), including the artist’s last name Binder and the title “Procession.” The piece is from 1971 aligning with the height of American Pop Art’s influence. The size is 84”W X 66.25”H. The condition is good but there are some minor indents in the canvas from age/moving and the white edges could be cleaned (please see detailed photos). Our pieces are new or showroom floor display furniture and decor. While they have not been previously owned, some floor models may show minor signs of showroom handling such as light surface wear or small cosmetic imperfections. We make every effort to describe items accurately and provide clear, detailed photos, but we encourage buyers to review the images carefully and ask questions prior to purchase if additional clarification is needed. Beauty and condition can be subjective. While we strive to highlight both the strengths and any notable imperfections, minor cosmetic variations may be present.
