His works range from landscapes and still lifes to abstract compositions, often inspired by nature and the sea. Bertle is known for his expressionistic style and use of palette knife, which gives his paintings a dynamic and tactile quality. He has had several solo exhibitions in Sweden, including at venues such as Vikingsbergs Konstmuseum in Helsingborg, Galleri HERA in Stockholm, and Galleri Viktoria in Gothenburg. His works are represented in several public collections, including Helsingborg Museum, the Swedish Arts Council, and Landskrona Museum. Bertle has received several grants and awards, including the City of Helsingborg’s Cultural Grant in 1967 and the Swedish Arts Grants in 1978 and 1992.
