Two genuine 18th century aquatint prints on laid paper, originating from a book with the long title: "Elements of Baccus; or Toasts and Sentiments Given by Distinguished Characters, Illustrated with Forty Prints in Aqua Tinta, of The Most Celebrated Bon Vivants in Britain, with a variety of anecdotes and remarkable traits prefixed to each portrait." With captions: " May sure plans be formed to save a sinking state" to one and "Conscious Honour when peace of Mind is absent" to the other. Written and designed by George Murgatroyed Woodward. Published by William Holland, No. 50, Oxford Street, London in 1792. Stylishly framed under glass with gilt wood frames and black mat.
