Wonderful oil painting on canvas board by Scottish artist Robert Russell MacNee. Feature a boatman on the river punting along. The plein air landscape is signed on the front lower right. The reverse side has the intact label from the London purveyor of art materials, Winsor & Newton, Ltd. The company's labels were updated and chronicled. This specific Winsor & Newton label was used from 1882 (when Limited was added to the name) to 1892 when another design was introduced. The artist is most well known for his barnyard scenes, this is one of his treasured country landscapes. I have enjoyed this in my own home for decades. Condition is excellent, with no damage whatsoever to the canvas with light crazing in the glaze. The painting measures 11” x 14”, frame measures 16” x 19”. Shipping is $35 to 48 states, well-packaged via USPS Priority Mail. We ship within 24 hours.
