Late 19th Century General George Washington Color Lithograph Nathaniel Currier, New York, N Y

Just in time for the 250th Anniversary of the Revolutionary War, Val's Dollhouse is proud to present an antique Color Lithograph of General George Washington by Nathaniel Currier of the famed Currier & Ives, New York, NY, U. S. A. This is a color lithograph print depicting George Washington on horseback with an artillery unit in the background. Washington is shown tipping his hat. The colored lithograph is titled Gen. George Washington - The Father of His Country by Nathaniel Currier. It is titled and marked at lower center as "Litho & Pub. By N. Currier, 2 Spruce St. N.Y." The piece is housed in a characteristic 19th century frame. This piece of art was acquired by my paternal grandmother and passed along to me. In the 1970's she had loaned it to a museum in Astoria, Oregon where the original glass on the frame was broken and was replaced at that time. The glass is not original, but the frame dates to the late 19th century, along with the lithograph. I would like to see it go to someone who will appreciate it and possibly restore it for further longevity, ideally display it in a place where it may be enjoyed by many for its historical importance.
