Figures is an original pen drawing realized by Leo Longanesi in the mid-20th Century. Fair conditions with foxings. Leo Longanesi, born Leopoldo Longanesi (1905 - 1957), was an Italian journalist, writer, publisher, painter, draftsman, caricaturist and aphorist. He tried his hand a the art of writing, graphics, typography, illustration, caricature drawing and painting, always leaving an original and counter-current imprint. He was founder and editor of various magazines such as L'Italiano (1926), Omnibus (1937) and Il Borghese (1950). A popular and sophisticated character, he was able to blend a taste for tradition with an unconventional intellectual attitude. Great talent scout, he was the maître à penser of an entire generation of writers and journalists. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
