An exceptional large abstract painting on paper by Leonard "Buzz" Wallace (1932-2021). Circa October 1966. The abstract and figural paintings sold here on 1stDibs were all purchased from Wallace's estate in Westbrookville, NY where he resided and set up his studio. This is Touche painting #2. The approximate measurements are 40" high x 42" wide. Paper laid on board. Exhibition tag. Tusche in lithography means a thin, oily, black liquid used in lithography to draw patterns or images on stone. It is a water-miscible solution applied with pens or brushes. Possibly Wallace Americanized the word or just clearly misspelled the word. One can see that his technique, in this series of abstract paintings on a large surface, is of thin splashes of color. Good overall condition with some minor nicks and tears to the sheet around the edges. Some minor pin holes in the corners and some lifting of the paper from the backing.
